Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $800.00 from Technikdirect.de

Summary:
The specs speak for the camera: 5Mpixel, 3x optical zoom, luminous lens, not very bulky, supports Microdrive. Already taken some amazing shots, and had some fun with an external flash.

Strengths:
Lots of features from the beginner (the BestShot mode is great in this area) to the expert (with full manual mode, external flash, etc). The bundled 1GB Microdrive is also a must (only in some sellers). Low noise in long exposures (can shoot the stars).

Weaknesses:
Focus system: rather slow in auto focus mode, hard to use in manual mode in low light, and in very low light situations the illuminator does not do the job for the AF. The movie mode is limited to 30sec and does not have sound (hurg!).

Similar Products Used:
I had used two Fuji FinePix (4700 Zoom and 6800). I kept the 6800 since it is more compact, easier to use, has a decent movie mode and doubles as USB Webcam (expensive one).

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $950.00 from Kamera-Express

Summary:
Solid camera, easy to use, very sharp pictures, perfect detail, little noise (except for the ISO 800 mode) lots of features (some are useful, some are not). Build in flash is a little poor (connected to a Metz MZ34, flash pictures look very good), in bright daylight LCD-screen is hard to use. Hardly any shutterlag.

Strengths:
Price (set includes a 1 G microdrive, Ni-Mh batteries, Charger, useful software),image quality, features, solid build, shutterlag.

Weaknesses:
Noise in ISO 800 mode, no TTL flash possibility, little slow writing.
