from Willoughby's Summary: Overall, I really like this camera. The manual features are just right, and the wide angle lens is excellent. Overall photo quality is very impressive, and most pictures are exposed and balanced correctly straight out of the camera. I've always found Canon's photo processing to look the best straight out of the camera.
The video is also pretty good, especially the 30fps mode. I like the compact size coupled with the power of all the manual features, and bring it along on bike rides almost every ride. The casing seems durable and the flash is powerful enough for around 6ft.
My only gripe is the camera's quality once you bump the ISO up to 200 or 400. The noise is pretty much unacceptable to me. Once you reduce the 8mp picture down to something viewable on the internet or a computer monitor, the noise is much more manageable. I wish the camera had some image stabilization, then it would be perfect in my mind.
If you want a compact camera with lots of manual options, and plenty of image size this is a great pick. I plan on upgrading to a dSLR eventually, but I plan on keeping this camera when I don't want to lug around a big camera. Strengths: Image quality in adequate light at ISO 50 or 100, excellent zoom, big beautiful pictures. durable design, nice LCD. Fantastic feature set for its size. Weaknesses: Poor low light performance, makes zoom fairly useless most people complain about lack or RAW output, but I've never used RAW so I don't mind. Similar Products Used: Canon S110 and S410
