Very handy to carry around. For just casual shooting you can leave it in your pocket and definitely better than most phone cameras.

The video quality is reasonably sufficient.

Tried a similar Olympus with the auto IS. A lot of cameras the IS is just a software touch up so at least you can turn the IS off.

The only complaint is the zoom range being small.

A brand-name that used to be low-end electronics from Japan not associated with photography like Nikon or Canon this is a contender. For the price you are paying have to be happy with a smaller zoom.

This camera has been a huge disappointment. My previous 8 megapixel Pentax camera took far superior pictures than this 12 megapixel camera does. The zoom gets stuck constantly. The focus is completely blurry in most pictures. I can't wait til I have a few bucks to buy a new camera and dump this thing.

The casio, though, is lightweight, easy to carry and even fits in my wallet. It is a good camera to take on hikes. I take it trail running.
It takes decent (but not great) pictures.
The video surprised me. I have used a flip video camera to take videos on the go and this did as well and is lighter and more compact.
The camera comes with a rechargeable battery and the battery life is good. I rarely have to recharge it.

I don't like that the camera does not have a view finder. It is really annoying. I use the camera mostly outdoors and it is hard to see the screen in daylight.
I haven't had good luck taking pictures close up or in low light.
The shots aren't as good as I expected from a camera with 12 megapixel capacity.

I bought this camera when an Olympus digital camera, that I'd had for years, gave out. That camera, even though it had few mega pixels, took fabulous pictures and I am a bit disappointed with the Casio.

For an inexpensive 12mp P&S it works for me. I wanted a small, thin camera that I can carry around my neck or in my pocket while riding a motorcycle. It's a little hard to see the LCD in bright sunlight, but then most screens are. The 3X zoom is OK but a 5X would be nicer. The menu is fairly easy to use and pretty standard. Selecting different picture modes is a one button push. Another button for movie mode with audio. The audio is there but is fairly low, so maybe not the camera for shooting movies. The video is great though. A 2gig card is good for 244 pictures at the highest resolution and 340 in HD.The battery lasts for days of intermittent shooting. I found a cheap battery for $12 that works as well as the OEM. The picture quality is excellent and I'm more that pleased with this camera.
