Strength:

Exceptional distance capabilities and good detail and colour rendition

Weakness:

Could improve the build quality up to Lumix standards

The build quality of the camera is fairly good but not up to the standards of e.g. Lumix or Cybershot cameras. The lens is extremely sharp easily outclassing Lumix and Cybershot compacts but this may be more due to very sophisticated software rather than the lens quality itself. I tested this camera in performance against a Lumix FX60 and found it to outperform the Lumix except in start up times and focus times. Pictures were more accurate in detail and colour rendition. Compared against a Leica C Lux 3 the Fuji did not detect every fine nuance that the Leica did in short distance shots although it's telephoto capabilities were far greater. The Fuji Finepix is a great compact all round camera at a very reasonable price.
