Strength:

24 times zoom if you use mostly a Tripod

Weakness:

Too many to list

I liked to use my Leica M3 and R4 before I changed to digital photography. Here I owned and used a D-lux 3 and a V-Lux 1 and was very pleased with both of them. Then I changed to the V-Lux 20 and the V-Lux 2. The V-Lux 20 produces
very nice quality- pictures and is very versatile. I hate to admit it, but I have never taken photographs with a camera that has that many shortcomings as the V-Lux 2.
Unfortunately I have big hands and whenever I try to take a picture, something has changed. Either it has changed to " Play-back" or shows some other features on the LCD. Everything on this Camera is far too small designed or in the wrong
place. In the software-section, there are too many confusing modes (Color-modes etc, etc., which most people will never use. Compared to the V-Lux 1 the camera
is very flimsy and looks only good and DSLR -like on pictures. Picture- quality
is only average, the 600mm zoom is not easy to handle, that means without a
tripod forget the second 12-times zoom. Before somebody is interested in
buying it, try it out first, it is defintely not "Red Dot" worthy. The V-Lux 20 is..!!!
