Strengths: Light weight and easy to carry.
Good for bright light photography. Think hikes on a sunny day and beach.Weaknesses: Impossible to shoot any other kind of shot.
Bird shots are highly inefficient since the sensor takes forever to shoot, by which time your birdie has flown.
Low light shooting is impossible. Keep your camera switched off if you want to shoot in low light.Bottom Line: overall, this is not a good product and you should not be putting your hard-earned cash into it.

Strengths: 30 x zoom, compact size, decent low light photography.Weaknesses: Shutter lag slow, in part because of auto focus. No manual control.Bottom Line: Overall a good travel camera because of the 30 x zoom and size. It is good to take and use for travel photography when you want a light weight camera option. As far as taking action shots, when you zoom out, you might miss the action because of shutter lag and you probably need to mount it on a tripod (which defeats traveling light). I am looking at getting a DSLR or an EVF camera to replace this camera.
