Bottom Line:
I'm a pro who has been using a scanning camera fro some years. I've longed for the $30K Leaf DCBII, but too much $$. This camera uses same technology as the DCB- three separate monochrome exposure through RGB filters. Even though the sensor is only 800,000 pixels, the three separate exposure give the computer the equivalent of a 2.4 megapixel one shot camera. For studio stuff, products and tabletop work this camera has no equal up to about $15,000. Makes the Polaroid PDC-2000 and Minolta RD-175 look sick by comparison. I interpolate the images up to 1600x1333 pixels and have seen the work printed at 150 line screen on varnished stock- really nice! For moving subjects you can shoot breathtaking black and white images. The camera with lenses, extension tubes and all the hardware and software is about $2400, which is a great bargain. It takes a little while getting used to using it, but the live video focusing is really great. I'm making money with this camera, and have shot some really nice black and white portraits of my kids as well. Can't reccommend this thing enough.
