Bottom Line:
Coming from the film era, still good memories of the EOS 1n, etc., I'm very pleased with digital, but the dslrs I've used up till now had always a plastic kind of fragile feeling, or they were far too heavy, being Nikon or Canon the feeling was more or less the same, in this respect.
The EOS 60D, gives me a solid feeling at just the right size/weight.
For the price difference between the more popular EOS600D(Rebel T3i) it is a very easy choise.
There are long lists of pro's and con's of all sorts of special functions, but good glass and the right handling of the camera/lens, that's what counts for me.
Very pleased indeed.

Strengths:    Easier to hold with convenient controls, solid heft overall, fast focusing and shutter release, and numerous settings.

Weaknesses:    May be too heavy for some, video mode does not autofocus.

Bottom Line:
After owning both the XSi and T1i as a big step up from the A95 point and shoot, I checked out the 60D one day side by side the T3i. I had always thought it would make great sense to have the swivel screen of that A95 on a DSLR and here were two of them. But it was the feel of the larger camera body that drew me to the 60D. It was larger and felt better holding that one. It was only later I discovered all the extra strengths of this one. Besides the large swivel screen, there was a full glass pentaprism, 9 cross type focus points, top LCD paneel, wireless flash control, dual rear menu wheels, larger battery, faster frames per second, and more menu customization. All these were useful to me. Some have not liked the locking mode dial but I thought that was a great feature as the dial often moved on the others. I chose the 18-135mm kit lens in order to have one lens that covered much of the range of both the 18-55 and 55-250 kit lenses, plus it was lighter and shorter than the 18-200. It is great not to have to change lenses back and forth. I actually enjoy taking pictures with the screen turned in, much as I once did with older SLR's. It is a very satisfying camera to use.
