Kodak DCS 660

MSRP: $

Description: The DCS 660's new ITO-based, 6-million-pixel CCD (3040 x 2008) improves spectral response and increases light sensitivity. At 12 bits per pixel, and with instantaneous capture of the full RGB matrix, it delivers exceptional color. The full-frame viewfinder shows you exactly what the CCD sensor sees. You get true wide-angle performance with your wide angle lenses, and an effective focal length 1.3 times the nominal focal length shown on the lens. And, with the advanced anti-aliasing technology in the DCS 660, moiré problems are virtually eliminated.

Model Reviewed:
DCS 660

Summary:
The cost of this camera is coming down and there is alot of great features, that is not on other digital pro camera. I use the digital camera about 80% of the time. I just found out that you can shoot Inferred images, with these camera. I try it and it is like falling off the log. I could check the exposure on the LCD, for a perfect image. This is a camera for the Pros or serious shutterbugs. Digital is the future.

Strengths:
Very good color and fast to use, it has 2 LCD, 1 for the image. This is the one, if you want a fast professional digital camera. One of the best feature, for me anyway, is the image LCD, which you can check out the lighting and props set-up and knows for sure that you have the shot. Tricky shots are no problem, with it preview LCD. Kodak DCS software, is very good program, that will let you adjust the exposure for +- 2 stops. I shoot 3d and now shooting Inferred images, with this camera, without any problem, in fact, it is easier and faster, then using a film camera. I just love this camera. No film, no film processing and scanning and retouching of the scan image.

Weaknesses:
When this camera, first came out, the only weakness is the high price. But a smart pro photogragher, can make more then, cover it cost.

Customer Service:
My hat off to Wayne, at Kodak, for taking care of my camera. I only have a minor problem, that did not effect the use of the camera. GREAT SERVICE!
