Strengths:    vivid color, much detailed, strong built body(maybe a bit large for small hands and heavier)

Weaknesses:    ISO 400 and long exposure quite noisy

    Bottom Line:
Good for studio and daylight picture.
Software SPP2 is an excellent one.

Strengths:    excellant color, great value. Wide selection of lens. Shoots RAW. Encourages creative use of photo editing sw. Sturdy, heavy construction. Removable dust filter to reduce sensor dust common to DSLR's

Weaknesses:    Lens limited to Sigma brand. By todays std noisy at higer ISO settings. Two battery types

    Bottom Line:
Great camera. The price with two zoom lens got me interested and the pictures posted on Pbase.com convinced me. Excellant color, easy to use. All controls are on the camera, not hidden away in sw menus.

Strengths:    Image quality (detail + colour)
Price-quality ratio (especially now with the SD10 around)
    Quick start-up time
    Good software

    Weaknesses:    - SA mount only

    Bottom Line:
After 2 months of using my SD9 I must say I am quite impressed. I think image quality is fantastic, much better than the 300d (Drebel) I have used a lot as well.

Shooting RAW only was a limitation at first, but now I found it actually changes the way is shoot digitally. I take more care now in finding the right picture to shoot, deciding what images to keep and a lot of TLC with post-processing. I find I shoot better images now with my SD9 then I did with my Drebel or G3 I owned previously.

The SD9 is in my opinion similar to my much-loved 35mm Contax G1. Both are cameras with limitations but with superior end results.

Strengths:    The pictures are with out a doubt the best I have ever seen from a digital camera.
    Price $900
    Software is easy to operate
Raw files are also easy to work with

    Weaknesses:    Uses up the batteries

    Bottom Line:
Very nice camera overall. Orginaly I wanted a Cannon 10D but I was told by several stores localy and on the web that it would be some time till they came in. With that said I figured it could also lead to warrnty problems, so I took a chance with the SD9. I must say I have used the 10D(limited) and liked it. It has many nice features, but I cann't argue with the reuslt that the SD9 produces. Even with a cheap lens (S 28-135) I must say that the result are simalar to that of Velvia 50 slides. Overall would I buy it again? In a heartbeat.
