Strengths: Clear pictures, durable.Weaknesses: Besides it was discontinued. I have found no weaknessesBottom Line: It has been well over 4 years ago that I purchased my 3 com Homeconnect. I have been extremely pleased with this cam and have had compliments on it for its clarity. I was shocked that this cam was discontinued. I have used this cam on icuii, netmeeting, ispq, yahoo, msn, and a few other video programs. All with great results. I have been told by many that they have dropped their cams and they broke. Mine has been dropped several times and it has worked great. I was very happy to be able to use it with Windows XP without any problems. I wish i could find another cam just like this as a back up... I will keep using this until it no longer works...... It may just keep on forever.

Strengths: Awesome light sensitivity, great color, nice looks, manual focusWeaknesses: noneBottom Line: I have a parallel-interface equivelant of this camera and it has been great! I wish it wasn't being discontinued, as I have finally dropped my current one a couple times to many and it seems to be failing after it's many years of excellent performance.
Nothing else that I've tried has even come close to comparing!

Strengths: Great low light capabilityWeaknesses: Flimsy focus ringBottom Line: The 3com HomeConnect is a great camera. I have used mine extensively with Netmeeting over the last few years, and it blows away most other cameras in the same price category. And guess what? IT WORKS WITH WINDOWS XP! All you need to do is download the drivers from http://www.vistaimaging.com, and you are up and running. It will give you one error during installation, but ignore it, as it works great anyway.

Strengths: Excellent picture, excellent low light camera. Picture quality is great. Can use multiple cams with the Viacam multi-cam driver.Weaknesses: pedestal is too short limiting adjustment. 3com has discontinued the product line so support will disappearBottom Line: Have tried various Logitech cams and IBM cams. This cam outperforms all. The cam is licensed by 3com from Viacam and you can get the multicam driver from the Viacam web site. This allows up to 10 cams on one computer. Very little load when streaming video compared to the other cams. Very clear picture. Excellent picture in very low light conditions. I've used it with just the light emitted by my monitor. Highly recommended. Well worth the money. In the price range of the top end Logitech, Intel and IBM cams.
Similar Products Used: Logitech ( various cams ) and IBM cam.
