    Review 1 of 12

Price Paid:  $9.00 from Marlin Jones & Assoc

    Summary:
The resolution 1600 x 1200 is nonsence, The manual claims a 640 x 480 ccd. The software I recieved with an EarthLink logo recognises the hardware as V2.01 but is unable to do anything with it. Tried all combinations of 2 identical cameras and 2 different computers exceeding the "optimum" requirements.

    Strengths:
    none known

    Weaknesses:
Supplied software does not work with camera.

    Similar Products Used:
    SiPix DualCam

    Customer Service:
    none

    Review 3 of 12

    Price Paid:  $0.00 from Earthlink

    Summary:
The other people writing reviews for this camera must either work for the manufacturing company or be writing about the wrong product. This thing is a piece of junk. I tried it on several different computers, and the image was never worth the trouble of setting it up. The effective frame rate is incredibly slow and figures look like blury ghosts. I got if free when signing up with Earthlink several years ago. It sounded like a good promotional incentive, but I actually feel robbed.

    Strengths:
    A good door-stop.

    Weaknesses:
Unusable image. Not worth it's weight in sand. At least it was free.

    Similar Products Used:
Creative and Logitech products are ok. Nothing compares to the iSight with Apple's iChatAV!

    Review 4 of 12

    Price Paid:  $3.00 from eBay

    Summary:
This camera is by FAR my favorite of the ones I have tried (Quite a few). I have tested most cheap USB webcams with poor results. I think perhaps the reason for the Alaris Weecam to stand out is because it's parallel (?). I have found that parallel cameras give better quality but less frames per second. Also, it makes the computer lag, and the bigger the size of the picture, the more lag. This includes the mouse movement which can get pretty darn annoying! But after having tested 30+ cameras, I still find this one to be my favorite of them all.

    Strengths:
Excellent optics, excellent camera in dark areas... SHARP PICTURES! Gooood quality pictures... umm...

    Weaknesses:
Lags the computer/mouse movement. Software sucks, the included driver sucks, hmm...

    Similar Products Used:
I've used many. This is by far my favorite webcam despite the weaknesses.

    Customer Service:
    None.

Price Paid:  $0.00 from earthlink for postag

    Summary:
the camera is what it is . tit does the job. if you what bestter proformace than buy a better camera. I use my for webcamming at yahoo and visit my home at work. I found if you plug it into a 2.0 usb it works better. Also I use the intel bundle software to do the movies and stills. For so reason it works. logitech will not. still you will need the original drivers to install the weecam. I'm using 98se, 1mhz cpu

    Strengths:
it size and option to mount it on a tri or speaker wall mounts

    Weaknesses:
it can be a bit grainy

    Similar Products Used:
intel pc cam and logitech which I took back to the store for the weecam had better picture go figure?

    Customer Service:
    haven't had the need
