Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Office Max

Summary:

This is a low-end web camera but it works. The installation is relatively easy and the software is ok. The resolution is not excellent but higher resolution will make the video file too big so you won't be able to attach it to the email (for example, hotmail has a 1 mb limit).

Strengths:

Price. Easy to use.

Weaknesses:

Skimpy manual, which says nothing about the software. The driver is old. I downloaded the "latest" driver from D-link web site but it is older than the one on my computer. The software is old too and there is not new version on their web site.

Customer Service:

Not applicable.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I am disappointed by the resolution of the camera in general. I also experience screen flicker, and this is not resolved by using the menu driven flicker resolution icon. The client software that came with the camera is no longer supported by a server site, so linking up with other users is initially difficult unless you upgrade to different software. I will return my camera and purchase a better one. I have had mine for less than 24 hours. My system is a 1.2 GHz processor, so it is more than able to keep up with the video drivers, etc

Strengths:

Ease of installation, thats it.

Weaknesses:

Poor resolution Screen flicker

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $3999.00 from vstore.com

Summary:

this is the worst web camera i have ever purchased. it isnt worth the box it was sent in. i was extremely disappointed. this product needs to be discontinued. My boyfriend bought it for me as a way to stay connected and i am returning it tomorrow.

Strengths:

the only strength i could find is how easy it is to install... but its no use because it doesnt work well.

Weaknesses:

not only does it freeze up when you try to capture video... it also is zoomed in too close to what is being captured. the products progams also didnt work. you cannot send video emails. it wont record. i would not... i repeat NOT recommend it to anyone.

Similar Products Used:

i have never seen a product this crappy.

Customer Service:

they keep you on hold and they dont respond to your emails. it is next to impossible to contact them.
