Review 3 of 6

Summary:

The Kensington VideoCam VGA produces quite a good picture even when only lit by a single 60w bulb. The colour quality is quite good as is the overall image quality. The provided software is okay and does what it is supposed too but I have been unable to get either the WDM or TWAIN interfaces to work. As long as you don't want third party programs to run with this, you should be okay.

Strengths:

Good colour Good in low light Clean image Paid $20 US for it new.

Weaknesses:

WDM doens't work and Kensington doesn't seem to care. TWAIN crashes Camera stops working if you fiddle with the software settings too much, needs to be un/plugged to revive it.

This cam has great resolutions that can be changed very easily. The ability to focus is not the best with haveing to make sure u make slight movements. The software that is giveing does have some issues with some software one for example would be icuII.. Kesington has not released any software to fix these conflicts. There Beta software is also in conlict.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

software conflicts and software bugs

Customer Service:

Great customer service and teck support was easy to reach when they were not at peak hours. Otherwise its a four hour wait

excellent image quality with this price. The software included is very buggy. I had to download an install both the software and firmware upgrades to make it work on my HP Omnibook 6000. However, this little overhead is really worthy for the price and quality.

Weaknesses:

buggy version 1 softwawre
