Summary:

Product used for: "never" not an option. The fisrt cam's CD wouldn't even open, my 2 Ricoh CDR/RW's wouldn't even recognize there was a CD in them. I did contact customer service and they claimed it's a bad CD, with additional information they would gladly send me a new one. I returned the Cam to ffice Max for an exchange of the same item.... same thing. So either OM has received a bad batch of these cams with bad CD's in them, or they are reselling returned pkgs, or these CD's simply suck....

Strengths:

cheap and bought local so an easy return

Weaknesses:

can't effectively give a review when I can't even install the cam

Similar Products Used:

None

Customer Service:

Customer service took about a week, but they did reply and they did offer a solution, to replace the CD.

Summary:

I bought this little piece of junk camera from Staples..what a waste of money! When I got home to hook it up....I was shocked to realize that this camera took awfully blurry pics! Even when you try to put it in focus..it is grainy and the resolution is extremely poor..I started taking pictures of myself and posted it in a chat room to get a date..and everyone laughed at me!!!!!..They thought my camera was cheap as hell!!!...now im out 50 bucks with no date either...Thanks IBM!!!!!

Strengths:

The slick packaging and smooth smooth sales pitch! Bastard salesman!

Weaknesses:

Absolutely horrible picture quality

Summary:

I have this camera (white one) this camer sucks very bad we got for free with our computer purchase at staples. they costed $50.00 with a rebate (50.00) and this camera is ok for taking a few pics at a time it ALWAYS freezes on me every time i turn it on so i have to restart my whole damn computer., for netmeeting my brother (which i was talking to on netmeeting) said it frooze and was all bulkey. i put it on my web page for a live streaming camera and it froze EVERY TIME and it is VERY VERY VERY bad under lighted conditions and the little button on the top for an instant pic doesn't work. and it was so bad staples were giving them away with a rebate last month for a always have to take like 20 pics untill the right one is choose

Strengths:

easy to use software,an ok camera if it doesn't freeze. ok for beginners any better than that not ok for them, its small

Weaknesses:

freeze on you,bad qaulity under just a LITTLE light, etc.and it comes with so much damn useless software it uses alot of memory

Review 4 of 6

Summary:

This camera has slow video, it is blurry. I don't recommend buying it to anyone unless it is like 19.99 or something. If you want a decent camera, spend the money and buy a good one that that can put out at least 50 frames per second.

Strengths:

Easy to Use

Weaknesses:

Slow Blurry

Review 5 of 6

Summary:

I was looking mostly for easy and quick setup. I didn't get that. I tried on two computers. The first one we got a decent video image, but couldn't setup the audio. This was probably no fault of the IBM PC Camera, more related to the computer multimedia choices, but never-the-less, we did not have sound. The camera did not have audio help. The second computer would not accept the IBM PC Camera install. We tried uninstall & reinstall but the video never showed. . . I had a similar experience with the Intel PC Camera Pro Pack the first time. However after one install failure, theIntel Pro Pack installed successfully and the sound mic. choices on setup helped bring in audio. The video image of the IBM PC Camera seemed better than the Pro Pack. But everything eventually worked on the Pro Pack and there is the added advantage of Video input (RCA connection) on the back of the camera for a VCR tape clip. The Intel Pro Pack costs about $25 dollars more.

Strengths:

Video quality looked good.

Weaknesses:

Install CD didn't intall on one computer. And there is no documentation to help setup your audio.
