Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $0.00 from ny mailorder

Summary:

the p1 is a decent all round camera. Bright viewfinder, 1/125 synch speed and it takes k-mount lenses. I''ve put some vintage glass on this camera and gotten wonderfull results. Decent build quality. You would be better off getting the f2 50mm lens than the zoom. I bought this camera to use in places to dangerous for the k1000. Thanx to the faster sych speed and the easier to focus screen i use it far more than the k1000.

Strengths:

All mechanical, bright viewfinder, accepts tons of cheap used lenses. 1 year limited warranty

Weaknesses:

30-70 zoom. Zooms allways suck. Go for the fixed focal length. Can''t comment on the exposure meter. I allways use a handheld

Similar Products Used:

Customer Service:

Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $170.00

Summary:

The camera is not worth the price and frustration for a photographer at any level.

Strengths:

Good for beginning students.

Weaknesses:

The camera is a piece of junk and was not worth the money. The camera's rewind broke while I was rewinding the film. While using a high shutter speed, the bellows became jammed and has been broken ever since. A CSR at a renowned store said he never saw such a problem.

Similar Products Used:

Canon Rebel 2000.

Customer Service:

Good.

Review 3 of 7

Summary:

This is a camera good for kids only, or someone who just want to own a camera. Even the cost is low, it is still a waste of money. Should spend a bit more to get a Japanese AF Camera.

Strengths:

1) Cheap
2) Light

Weaknesses:

1) Limited Lens
2) Basically very basic
camera.
3) Poor Metering

Review 4 of 7

Summary:

Bottom line? This camera is pure garbage. A friend of mine bought it (with a 14 day return policy) & asked I shoot several rolls to evaluate. Build quality stinks. Metering stinks. This camera has no redeeming qualities & you would be better of with a $15 Holga. DON'T waste your time or money - this is one hunk of trash!

Strengths:

None

Weaknesses:

Everything

Similar Products Used:

Nikon, Canon, Leica

Customer Service:

Absolutely terrible

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $200.00 from Camera Center

Summary:

The camera is very basic. It is for beginers and will not progress them very far. I personally feel that the Company is not relible.

Strengths:

Easy to use.

Weaknesses:

Light metering can be very hard to achive the proper exposure, compared to other cameras. I read that my current cammera was hard to achive the proper exposure but compared to this it is 20 times eaiser.

Customer Service:

Very bad. I sent the cammera to Phoenix under the camera's 1 year warrenty, because when the apputure was adjusted the camera did not notice a difference. Phoenix said that the camera was hit so it wasnot covered in the warrenty. I was the only one who had used the camera so I knew that this was not the case. When I told the company this they then said that it was sand damage. This also was untrue, I had a camera shop owner call the company because he had seen the camera before it was sent in and he knew that there was no sand damage. After this they aggreed to honor the warrenty. This all started over 2 months ago and the camera has not been returned.
