from Service Merchandise Summary: I bought this camera at Service Merchandise several years ago (before it was discontinued)for $100 because it was a customer return item for resale. Not a bad deal, I thought. It's an APS Zoom Point and Shoot but I assumed that if anyone could make a good APS Zoom camera it would be Nikon. Not on your life! This Nikon is an absolute dog! The camera is oversize and clumsy. There is a terrible time delay between pressing the picture taking button and the camera operating. The auto focus is haphazard, sometimes working and other times, not. Bad redeye. Fuzzy pictures (lousy lens)even when the auto focus is working. I finally gave the camera to my daughter (who is a pretty good photographer with her Nikon SLR). She ran one roll of film through the camera, saw the prints, and politely gave it back to me. it's now gathering dust in my junk drawer and now I'm using an 35mm Olympus Stylus Epic with a fixed 35mm/f2.8 lens. Wow! what an improvement over that Nikon. OK, the Nikon has been discontinued, but don't even buy a used one, no matter the price! Strengths: Nikon fit and finish (looks nice) Weaknesses: Very poor lens quality (a Nikon disgrace!)
Poor auto focus
Slow operation
