from Ritz Summary: I wouln''t recomend this camera to anyone!
@ first it seemed like a great deal. It''s tiny, inexpensive with a decent zoom lense. It''s tiny which was the reason I was interested. I had a large Pentax 35MM SLR and with the zoom lense it was beast to carry around. I was looking for something that I can carry without making my arms/neck sore from the weight.
BUT, you get what you pay for:
Horrible red eye reduction - The camera has a small red diode that blinks prior to flash operation... Doesn''t do a thing.
Eats batteries - Make sure to carry an extra set because if you use the camera and don''t finish the roll of film, it will need another battery in about a day or two, even when not in use.
Eat''s film - I''ve had this camera eat whole cartridges of film. The battery indicator is normal and I place a new roll inside. The camera sets up the first frame and exausts the battery. When you replace the battery, it rewinds the film and gives an exposed display... Meaning the fresh roll has been rewinded and useless!
The picture quality is horrible - In comparison to my friends 35MM Olympus Stylus and other 35MM camera''s I''ve had experience with, the quality of the 24MM APS format is mediocre @ best. It''s grainy, the color is washed out, etc. I have tried both Kodak and Fuji film, with similar luck. It may be the camera, but I''m going to purchase another camera, probably a 35MM. Why even take the camera if the pictures are horrible and it doesn''t work because the battery is exausted! Strengths: - Size
- Price
- Zoom lense Weaknesses: - Bad picture quality
- Horribly short battery life
- Bad red eye reduction
- Bad buttons, too small to comfortably work. Similar Products Used: Olympus Stylus Zoom Customer Service: Not used.
