Strengths:    Precision, versatility and full integration with other Sinar cameras and metering systems

Weaknesses:    Front and rear standards are wimpy.
Standards are suitable for horizontal shots but are not strong enough for much else (eg vertical shots).

Bottom Line:
A good entry into the Sinar view camera system

Strengths:    Excellent combination of lightweight and operability. I use it when I work in the field (not far from my car).

Weaknesses:    None.

Bottom Line:
I have chosen Sinar F because of its portability and light weight. Excellent range of movements. Easy to use. The built-in depth-of-field calculator is very helpful.

Strengths:    this camara is the most versatil I've ever had, simple to use and automatic depth of field, if you read the intructions on how to get it

Weaknesses:    I snapped the front rail holder, but got a replacement in 2 weeks

Bottom Line:
I really enjoy using this camara in the studio, and on the field... when I shoot for clients I know I have the sharpness that I need everywhere in the frame where I want it sharp, a true selective focus camera

Strengths:    The Sinar F1 is an economical and relatively light addition to the Sinar family. It incorporates the majority of features found on larger models without the price and inconvinience.

Weaknesses:    The only complait I wish to make about this fine camera is the lack of geared rise movements. This can be cumbersome to facilitate exact movement, though not hindering.

Bottom Line:
A truly versatile and valuable tool in all respects. Very highly recommended.

  • Other FeaturesThere are a few basic differences between the f1 and the f2. The f2 features an enclosed rail clamp on the front standard for greater stability. The front standard also has fine focus capability. Swing and shift locks are separate on the f2, and feature a positive locking mechanism for even easier operation. Film plane metering upgrades available.
