When you first hold an Alpa 12SWA in your hands it feels probably like getting the car keys of a Bentley - wonderful and different. No batteries, no electronics, just perfect optics and high precision mechanics. Try to shift the lens - you think to move something which has no resistance at all - that soft and precise. Now comes the very different part - taking a picture. Forget multiprogram modes with multifield autofocus and fast motordrive - just concentrate on what photography stands for - it means writing with light. Back to what is really important in photography - best optics, best mechanics, precision, durability and again precision. I must say, an Alpa is like a Ford Mustang - you do not buy one just to drive it, you fall in love with it and never part again from this wonderful camera

I do not need it as everything is so perfect, but I was told that it is perfect as well - in the unlikely case you consider needing it.

There are no similar products, I own several medium format cameras like Rollei SL 66SE, Mamiya RZ67 Pro II, Linhof, etc. but the Alpa 12SWA does not have any competition
