Summary:

The Yashica Zoommate 70z certainly has many appealing features such as an autofocus zoom lens, a built-in flash, and date imprint capability. The low price also makes it very attractive, but I was disappointed by its performance. The camera is very slow. There is a very long delay (1-2 seconds) from the time that you press the shutter release button until the photo is actually taken. The delay is caused by a very slow focus mechanism that has to move the lens a considerable distance before the shot is made. It's so slow that the camera is practically useless for normal use. Because of this serious problem I wouldn't recommend that you consider the Yashica 70z as a main camera.

Strengths:

Low price, many built-in features, very compact size, and comes complete with a carrying case, AA batteries, and a roll of film.

Weaknesses:

Slow focus and extremely long shutter delay.
