    Strength:

-Light, compact -Clear,crisp images in proper light/outdoors -Awesome 3.5 inch lcd screen -Color view finder -Fire wire in/out -smooth manual focus ring -Hot shoe mount -Very smooth, gracefull zooming -illuminating playback funtions -You can connect an anolog 8mm or hi8 cams to the trv-11 and import to a computer.

    Weakness:

-Poor in low light conditions and indoors -video noise in low light -Only 20X optical zoom -Grainy digital stills -3.5 inch lcd can be highley power consumeing.

The Sony DCR TRV-11 is a great consumer camcorder for the price. It is great for beginners to learn how to use the manual controls like exposure, white balence, etc. The TRV-11 is replaced by the TRV-17, they are both the same but the TRV-17 has the new HAD ccd wich makes it better in low light, an area wich the TRV-11 is poor. But you can't beat the buy out price of the TRV-11, I got mine for $600.00 at The Future Shop!
