    Strength:

    Good picture quality

    Weakness:

    Poor quality construction
    Hand-cramping design
    Useless Service
    High Price
    Short Lifespan

    Nice While It Lasted

Gave great service for 3 years, then just won't move the tape along. Whether its on RECORD or PLAY, 19 times out of 20 it just whirs and then beeps. The screen shows an 'error' and that's all she wrote.

$300/yr is a pretty high price to pay! Overall it was like my VAIO computer, top of the line, more expensive than the rest, and quits just after the warranty does! Does Sony care about their customers of their (supposed) reputation for building long lasting premium products? Not as far as I can see. In both cases they 'offered' to repair their products, at my expense, for slightly more then 120% of their purchase price.

After 2 high-priced pieces of equipment failed due to manufacturing defects, immediately after the warranty expired, I'm done with Sony for good! Look for a more reasonably priced alternative - Sony quality is a MYTH!!

    Strength:

Great image, durable, and nice compact size.

    Weakness:

    not a thing

Glad that I chose this unit 3 years ago. Still to this day I have not had a single problem with it. I'm also stoked that I don't have to pay $15 for a DV tape any more ;) This camera is really durable. I have dropped it in concerts from time to time. The only thing is miss is the remote (i lost it). If you can get one get it, you won’t be disappointed.
