Summary:
I loaded the software following the directions and everything worked just great. My test Compactflash was a 128 MB with two picture and I found no problems. My second test was another 128 MB Compactflash that was full. Again no problem. After inserting the reader, Windows took about a minute to load the new drivers. After inserting the full Compactflash card, it was ready to read. What a good feeling to try out a hardware devive that actually workds as advertized.

Summary:
Picked up this past weekend for $49.95 with a $20 mail in rebate. Guess the price has gone up with the new packaging. Load the software and plug it in. That's all there is to it. Go to My Computer and the reader shows up as a removable drive. My camera has a USB port but I like using the Sandisk reader. We had a tropical storm this past weekend so I used the camera and reader a lot to record damages to the house.

Relatively inexpensive, very easy to use, takes up no room.

Summary:
I just plugged it in and boom. Worked perfectly and still does. No problems. I have my viewer software for my camera (ACDSee) set to go to the card reader by default whenever I open the program. So I just insert the card, open the program and there are all my pictures, in seconds. Then I just click and drag to get them off the card. Or I can delete them from there, rename them, whatever. I don't know how I got along without it before. The other thing that's great is that camera software tends to be buggy and sometimes causes problems on your PC. Well, with the card reader, you don't even need to install your camera software. One less program to crash your computer!

Strengths:
Works effortlessly. Small size. USB is great! Reads like a regular drive.

Weaknesses:
Sometimes it seems a little hard to get the card in. I don't know if it's a little tight or it's just me. But I just insert the card gently and wiggle it a little if I need to, to make sure it's lined up right before I push it in all the way. Not really a big deal.

Summary:
I used to have an Olympus D-450 with SmartMedia and also purchased the $89 floppy disk adaptor. It worked great and didn't waste the batteries. So, when I got a new Canon Digital Elph in Dec. that used Compact Flash, I looked for a similar product. I was psyched that the San Disk USB reader was easier, MUCH faster, and was only $23. When I was home for Xmas, I hooked it up to my parent's new Dell Dimension and it instantly recognized it. No problem. HOWEVER, when I got back home and hooked it up to MY Dell Dimension, it crashed. Tried a few times to no avail. So, I simply read some reviews here, saw that others had problems, and went to the SanDisk site. Within minutes I found that there was an issue with my Adaptec CD creator, I downloaded a patch, rebooted, and voila, no problemo.

Strengths:
Easy, fast, cheap

Weaknesses:
With a background in tech support and familiarity with PCs, getting it to work was cake once I found the fix. However, I could see other people (like some reviewers here) trying to install for days, reinstalling operating systems, giving up and returning it.

Summary:
I sell numerous items daily on E-Bay and this little charm has saved me SO much time. No waiting for software to load. Just pop your card in and your ready to go!

Strengths:
Time saver!

Weaknesses:
It's so small that sometimes it gets lost on my desk:)
