Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $25.00 from Cnet

Summary:

This is an excellent, simple, elegant program for managing large photo databases. It uses a series of drop-down data entry fields (which can be modified) to comprehensively and efficiently classify every photo into the database. It has simple photo-editing capabilities, very clever export and inport functions, easy CD creation, and a great tool to email your photos directly from the application. It has drag and drop capabilites for windows directly into the library.

Strengths:

Easy to use. Fast. Very stable this program has never crashed. My database is greater than 10 gigs without a hitch.

Similar Products Used:

Many of the photo managing programs included with digital cameras. Sony, Cannon and Kodak to name a few.

Customer Service:

Top notch. I have had a couple of questions and received a personal response from the programer within 48 hours.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $25.00 from online

Summary:

Our employees needed an easy to use database of digital pictures to upgrade from line drawings in their Powerpoint presentations designed for teaching seminars. DPL fits the bill. The library is kept on a server and everyone has access to it on a read-only basis. In other words they can download from, but not upload to, the library library. The filtering functions of DPL allow the instructors to quickly locate the photos they'll use in their presentaions. They can export the picture in a size they need, too. Not every picture need a whole screen. Sometime smaller is better especially when accompanied by text. For our application DPL is extremely useful!

Strengths:

Filtering. Export/Import. Customizable database labels.

Weaknesses:

None

Similar Products Used:

We tried many.

Customer Service:

Very helpful and very quick.
