from B&H Photo Summary: I bought mine as a part of a package with OptiCal. Quite frankly, there is no reason why ProfilerPlus should be able to work, but it does remarkably well. The initial printer profiles generated are very usable, and correct neutrals excellently. These profiles are not perfect however, and require additional tweaking if you are really fussy. But amazingly, the initially generated profiles are much better than the canned printer/paper profiles Epson provides for the 1280. This is probably the best you can do in this price range for printer profiling, and is well worth the investment. But don't expect a professional color management system for this price. Good value for a serious photography enthusiast. My major complaint is that you don't get printed documentation--that you have to generate yourself from the CD or the web site, on your own nickel. Strengths: * Easy to use
* Produces surprisingly good printer profiles-neutrals are spot on
* Tweaks are provided to fine-tune generated profiles Weaknesses: * Soft proofing using ProfilerPlus profiles in Adobe is a little strange. Soft proofs look worse than the acutal output, which is quite good.
* The initial profile is not perfect, if quite usable--much tweaking may be necessary to get it exactly right.
* No documentation included-you must download and print it yourself from CD or web site. Similar Products Used: none Customer Service: web site faqs ver helpful
