Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I got my hands on PS7 just a few months ago, and I'm absolutely in love with what I can do with it! Sure, it takes some time to learn how to use it correctly, but now I can effortlessly edit photos as much or as little as I want. And I still have tons of things to learn! I really like all the control PS7 gives me, I can edit much more precisely than with any other software I've used. This program has so many features, some of which I'm sure I'll never have a use for, but it's still nice to know they're there..! Since I got PS7, all my other photoediting software are enjoying early retirement, it has rendered them obsolete! For very casual users, this program may be overkill, but even though I'm only an amateur I really enjoy making my photos the absolute best they can be. For those serious about photography, PS7 is *it*!

Strengths:

Versatility Control Limitless opportunities Quality Compatability w other programs and ability to add third party extras such as plug ins

Weaknesses:

Steep learning curve, price

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Adobe

Summary:

There is nothing better than Photoshop. Some other products do more or have more filters, but none out there are a part of something more, which is the entire digital workflow. Adobe has many products that use their fantastic interface and interoperability to make any artist work on the product instead of wrestling with the program. Photoshop's strength is in its unobtrusive interface and its extremely well thought out toolset.

Strengths:

INterface Tools Ability to customize

Weaknesses:

For some, ther is not enough automation, like any professional product it gives the serious artist control over canned effects for the amateur. SOME might see this as a weakness, I really don't but mention it for those expecting otherwise.

Review 4 of 4

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

The new features in this version of Photoshop make it easier to do frequent tasks like color correction with new AutoColor. The Healing Brush tool is really great and is a smart clone-stamp tool. I haven''t really messed with the file browser yet, since WinXP has a great thumbnail browsing features anyway.
