This is a great program, combine it with their Albumn software and it is terrific. Easy to use even the first time out of the box. I own Picture IT and Adobe Ellements 2 (which I dislike greatly) and the Paintshop is so much better.
Strengths:
Easy to use. Very intuitive right out of the box. Great manuals.
Weaknesses:
haven"t found any.

Picture It, and Adobe Elements 2. I am disappointed in picture it, I had express on my laptop and like it but the Picture It Premire is not as good. Elements 2 is terrible in comparison. It is difficult in that nothing can be done easily. Many more steps for each procedure.
The newest version, PSP 8 is incredible. I downloaded the trial and will buy either the upgrade from Jasc or just bite the bullet and get it from Best Buy full version. The new version has so many new features. Take the way you control brush sizes. You can control the width and the angle of the brush which makes retouching teeth especially easy. There are oodles of new brushes. Plus, need something that came with an earlier version of PSP, just tell the program under File Preferences/File Locations where to locate it and wham, it is there! No restarting. The new warp brush is super for improving uneven teeth, you can simply click a tooth into the proper proportion. It can do instant tummy tucks for ladies! It is a powerful program. The scripting capability is wonderful. Instead of trying to remember all the great tutorials on PSP filters for type, you can store the whole thing in a script and never have to look it up again! It makes batch photo correcting a snap. The new printing thumbnails is great, you can print them even in mini wallet and wallet size, in fact, any size and they are labeled. Just don't click on the thumbnail box when you are doing this or you will get low resolution. The painting tools are far better than Photoshop 5.5. Photo collages are easy. I just did a composite portrait of my family and you can't tell that it is five different snaps on my Kodak digital camera! I love it!
Strengths:
Lots of Macromedia tutorials that come with the program, makes everything easy to learn.
Weaknesses:
PSP Anniversary Edition included the Lacquer filter from Flaming Pear and the Swerve filter. (So I imported them, no big deal!)

Summary:
If you read the photography review sites you come to the conclusion that JASC’s Paint Shop Pro is the best-kept secret in the industry. Frankly, I have Adobe’s Photo Shop 6 also, but when comparing it to Paint Shop Pro 7, I can’t help but wonder, “What on Earth was I thinking to give all that money to Adobe?”
Don’t get me wrong; Photo Shop is a great program. But, in my humble opinion, it’s nowhere near 6 times better than Paint Shop. In fact, I find my self using Paint Shop much more than any of my other photo editing software. It’s just an easy, logical, and refined editor. It seems that everything I want to do with my images Paint Shop Pro does more intuitively, and with fantastic results.
Let’s face it; there is a certain amount of snobbery associated with Photo Shop. However, I think it’s all due to the $600 price tag. If it cost that much, it must be the best, right? Well, if you have the money, and want to consider yourself among the digital elite, jump in the Beemer and go get Photo Shop. You won’t be disappointed. But, for my money, Paint Shop Pro is as good or better than anything I have used.
Strengths:
The price.
The results
Paint Shop is a fully capable image editor with more features than most of us will ever use. It has an intuitive interface that will allow you to explore the extremes of your creative abilities. And, the final images are equal to any in a digital medium.
Weaknesses:
Few, and minor.

What a professional program, without the price. What makes PSP 7 the best is, the ease of use unlike most feature rich programs. What I found fun was all the tutorials on the Internet! They cover ALL the features available. Here is the best way to get tons of sites; go to www.google.com, click on directory, click computer, click software, click graphics, under categories click image editing, under categories click PAINT SHOP PRO. This seems lengthy but you wont be sorry. You will get an entire page of all the PSP tutorials on the net! Tip: You have a choice to alphabetize the list, then you can copy and paste in a folder, and as you visit each site you can right click the page and add to your favorites. Whew!! I took this effort to explain in detail all the help you will ever need because one day I hope to see your website with all your ideas, helping others as others has helped me.
Strengths:
Very easy to learn.
Feature rich.
Professional without the price.
Plenty of tutorials on the net.
Big, thick, manual. Now thats refreshing!
