Review 1 of 8

Price Paid:  $38.00 from mediachance

Summary:

This is the program I use to take care of impossible situations easily. I have all of Oscar's programs because when I cannot figure out how to do something in Photoshop or PhotoElements (Corel, etc), I grab this one, and usually am flabbergasted that it is so easy. Oscar has built in a phenomienal amount of functionality that are usually only avaliable with a raft of plug-ins.

Oscar seems to have a handle on simplifying the obvious, rather torturing you like every other photo editor does. Since it is a free download, go ahead and try the Barrel Distortion editor and the Perspective Correction editor. They will knock your socks off in how easy they are to use and the actual results. NOBODY has these two functions implemented in such a way that they are so easy to use other than PhotoBrush. Oscar is truly a genius.! Those two features by themselves are worth the 38.00 price, and you get the rest of the editor thrown in for free (if you want to look at this another way lol).

I don't know anybody else that actually simulates actual filter lenses like Photobrush does either! Amazing! And for a capper, a chromatic aberration remover. See? Everything is there :)

Strengths:

Unbelievable set of photomanipulastions built in. For example, I do a lot of indoor photography for realtors, and I use extreme wide angle lenses. It is a piece of cake, with the built in Barrel Distortion corrector to fix. In many cases, after that fix, I grab the program's Persective Correction to correct the doorway angles, etc. Try THAT with any other program without expensive plug-ins. For outdoors, Oscan's got this Polarizer filter that seems to work (I can't figure out how it can work, but it does).

Another oddity is that he interprets the camera exposure data from all the cameras right in a "camera-looking" display on the lower right, so I have an idea of the exposure you are starting with.

To finish, all of Oscar's programs are amazing. When used in conjunction with his Real Draw and PhotoSeam, you pretty have all the graphics stuff handled.

Weaknesses:

No layers, but for most cases this is not a problem. You just have to plan your edits. The multiple undo function helps here.

You name it, I have it and have used it.

Customer Service:

Good. A few times I got no response, or the response was delayed. But hey, maybe those spam filters on his end killed my email?

Review 2 of 8

Price Paid:  $38.00 from mediachance website

Summary:

If Photoshop is too technical, slow and cumbersome, try Photobrush. It has practically everything Photoshop Elements has, except layers, it' 1/3 the price, is fast, slim and will not crash your system. You will be amazed and delighted with its power and ease of use. Service from its creator, "Oscar" is tremendous. Very good documentation. If taking digital pictures and editing them are your bag, do yourself a favor and try this program for a couple weeks. It will open a whole new world for you.

Strengths:

expertly programmed-small, fast powerful, intuitive; made for real-world photographers who don't want a 5-hour stretch sitting in front of Photoshop to make their pictures look the way they want; excellent service (you won't need it), and great documentation

Weaknesses:

nothing of note

Similar Products Used:

Photoshop Elements Photostudio JASC whatever those others were called

Customer Service:

If you have a problem(you won't), Oscar will make you smile.

Review 3 of 8

Price Paid:  $39.00 from Mediachance Web site

Summary:

I got so frustrated with photo editors. I tried almost every one on the market from Photo shop on, at least 20 different editors, then I ran into Photo brush! The main things i like about photo Brush is the user interface(easy to use and understand), the power of the program - found i could do everything the high price difficult to learn ones could and speed with which i could do things. I take between 200 and 500 pics when i go out shooting for the day and I usually edit 50% of them before posting on my web site. i could only handle this with Photobrush. I give it an A+
