Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $20.00 from Friday ad

Summary:

I've had this software in use for over five years now and have looked into many alternatives. nothing compares to the convenience that Photosuite version 4 offers. Even updates from MGI, lost the feel and comfortable edge in using sliders whare phisically adjusting the photograph felt far more in touch, natural, and humanly workable.
The lateral thinking in the structure of work steps enabled me to belt through large numbers of photos but I did find it important to straighten and cut as first actions because of rare accurence of crashing. Only in these options though.
I now use a quality cameraphone of 3.2mpxl and cameras of 5mpxl which version 4 would struggle and become slowed with anything above 8mpxl if in TIFF or RAW but with the cameraphone the finished pictures are superb and I very much doubt could be bettered by anything else I've looked into .
This and the far better feel of working this software means I'm still very attached and will keep using it.

Strengths:

Feel, speed, sliders, simplicity. Exellent if not better option for todays cameraphones.

Weaknesses:

Limited in code size, will struggle with 8mpixl in detailed code.

Similar Products Used:

adobe photo shop everything, Paint shop, cannon, olympus, minolta packedges

Customer Service:

Phone number to germany. Very helpfull and in english.

Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $49.00 from Iraq came with camer

Summary:

Once I actually got it to load on Windows XP the program was an exercise in frustration. I was unable to get the camera to load. The list of devices in the program do not match the MERCURY camera it was packaged with. Instructions say to select TWAIN source if camera isn't listed, but then the instructions say this will only work if you have Windows Millennium! Well, I don't! I have A MAC OSX running Virtual Windows XP! I guess this is what I get for owning the best hardware! Can't review remainder of the progam because I CAN'T USE IT!!!!!

Strengths:

Can turn a meek man into a mad man.

Weaknesses:

Not well written, should have availble updates to support new operating systems!

Similar Products Used:

iphoto and iMOVIE - go MAC and you'll never go back (to PC)

Customer Service:

What customer service. I was looking for an update, help, something and it's not to be had!

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $40.00 from Costco

Summary:

This product is bad, bad, bad. It is slow to load, works terrible in XP and no updates to deal with issues arising. Why would I go to the next version. You lost a customer on this and future products. My vendor would not allow the return as well as it was opened. Unfortunately I also bought the video product as well.

Strengths:

Simple to use. Great for beginners.

Weaknesses:

The summary covers it all.

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

I teach people how to use computers and teach a course on Digital Photography. I selected this product because it is the only one with step-by-step instructions shown on the screen. Most people I teach are confused at first by what to press first, second, etc. This software very clearly laid out step 1, step2, etc. getting people off and running very quickly.

Strengths:

This does all the basics that I expect a beginner to want to do (red eye, crop, rotate, slide shows, easy printing) plus has some "fun" features in it.

Weaknesses:

You have to close your anit-virus program in order to use it.

Similar Products Used:

I tried several others.
