Price Paid:  $50.00 from CostCo

Summary:

Great as a beginner product. MDIS was my first venture into the digital processing world. I wanted something somewhat inexpensive to use just to see if this was something I wanted to do as a hobby. At the time I had a film camera and had the negatives developed and a CD made instead of prints. I found it very good and was pleased with the results. Plus it is straight forward as compared to Photoshop Element 4. I like how it handles blemish removal better than PSE4 but then I'm still learning PSE4. The drawback is it cannot handle the RAW format and that is what I use strictly. I would like to see them improve their product. Currently I mostly use Capture NX. CNX cannot remove blemishes. Perhaps if MDIS and CNX would consider combining efforts...........

Strengths:

Easy to learn
Great results
Has levels & curves
Manipulation of shadows, highlight, midtones
Photo stitching
many more options

Weaknesses:

Cannot handle RAW format and therefore it also cannot leave the file in RAW format

Similar Products Used:

Photoshop Element 4
Capture NX

Customer Service:

Did not need to use them so I cannot rate this.
