Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

The best NR program on a market.
You can set different parametrs of a NR process very precision and get result, which you have in plans to get.

Strengths:

Ability to work with 24bit materials.
Good NR profiles (program do not spoil original colours)
You can apply NR on those places of a picture, on which you want (NR brush)

Weaknesses:

Can't see

Similar Products Used:

Neat Image NR;
some different plugins to Adobe Photoshop;
some programs has internal NR option (for example Capture One)
and so on....
Nothing can compare with NN

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $80.00 from PictureCode site

Summary:

Very flexible and powerful noise reduction. Using it in Photoshop actions was confusing at first. Trick is to use the actions pane of the plugin to set default behavior when called inside a PS action. Settings tend to be less aggressive, which I prefer. Rather keep some noise than to obliterate fine detail. But it's all easily adjustable, and the noise brush lets you mask areas very quickly if you don't want the filter to affect them.

Strengths:

Customization, speed, batch processing, interface, efficient masking.

Weaknesses:

Some features a bit obscure, using it to batch can be confusing.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $80.00 from PictureCode website

Summary:

A product that works. Period. It is exceptionally good for noise reduction without losing detail-try it! If you shoot at any high iso's consistently, then you want this.

Strengths:

Extremely easy to use and install. Excellent installation instructions and prompting during installation.

Weaknesses:

Separate plug-in and standalone downloads. Expensive to get the pro key code that allows keys for both the stand alone and plug in.

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $69.00 from online

Summary:

I really like this product! I tried to remove the grainyness from some pictures I shot in raw mode on my Canon G2 using a butch of other software (Adobe, Painshop, ETC..) but they all blurred the images like a softing effect. Anyway, a couple of hints (maybe a pro can help with more). Load a noise profile for your camera and select the ISO it was shot at (your photo should have this info). Next, select "scan entire image for luminance profile" under noise profile by color. Then, simply filter the image. I found it can handle without loss of detail high levels of suppression and sensitivity. I love getting nice clean images without losing detail. I only wish it had a built in raw converter (for canon files) and that it was easier to understand how to do batch processing.

Strengths:

Great noise reduction without creating blurred or soft images

Weaknesses:

lack of raw converter

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $29.00 from Picturecode.com

Summary:

I have a few before and after samples with my Minolta Dimage A1 at: www.pbase.com/hsandler/a1 I was concerned about noise when I moved up to a 5 MP camera with a small sensor. I have applied Noise Ninja simply using the default noise profile for my camera provided with the software. It works incredibly well. Noise is noticeably reduced without loss of detail.

Strengths:

Simple to use; open your file, apply reduction, you can toggle back and forth to see the before and after; save You can also apply a "history brush" to selectively take away the noise reduction from high detail bright areas that you may not want filtered.

Weaknesses:

Separate program from Photoshop Elements 2; although a plug-in is apparently in the works
