Strengths: Filters, history, layers, tools, and almost everything else about it!!!Weaknesses: Sometimes being able to save only as a PSD file.Bottom Line: I have used Photoshop for several years, and have learned something almost everytime I use it! I can't believe how many features it has. I have tried many other photo editing products, by many companies, and have yet to find one that tops Adobe Photoshop. Other ones I have tried are usually awkward and unprofessional. They are aimed more at children who don't have the time or patience to learn a really good program.
Don't be scared by the price! Adobe Photoshop is worth it!!!

Strengths: Versatility and Depth of functionality. Automates a lot of tedious processes. Lots of effects.Weaknesses: Large file size can be cumbersome. But on newer computers it's not much of an issue.Bottom Line: Great program for multimedia use. Use it for creating background, buttons, composites and many other uses. Exports and imports almost any file format.
Similar Products Used: Adobe After Effects is a great companion program if you do 2d animation.

Strengths: manipulate/create image in every imaginable way.Weaknesses: but, u have to know how to use it . its just too much program for most people.Bottom Line: Photoshop, photoshop, what can i say about it. its the ***most powerful*** imaging program out there. BUT the product has a steep learning curve so stick with it and u can make AMAZING graphics. The depth of the program is simply unbelievable. after a year of use, i am still learning!
all this greatness comes at a price, it'll put a FAT hole in your pocket. so if you aren't goin to do heavy duty image editing, stick with paint shop pro. if u are goin to create simple graphics, use fireworks.

Strengths: So easy to use and understand; perfect for everyone from novices to pros; the Action function is genius.Weaknesses: None I've found so far.Bottom Line: I've used Photoshop for work and found it incredibly easy to understand and use. As a beginner, I was a little intimidated by all the features. However, after starting with a bit of guidance, I found myself easily learning more about the program and its capabilities on my own. The Help Guide is extremely useful and accurate, and there is no end to the features available. You can literally do anything with an image, and I particularly like the feature that allows you to set an Action for features you use over and over (like saving an image, cropping an image, etc.). Overall, a wonderful program.

Strengths: One of the most important addings that version 5.5 has is the History Palette, and the history brushWeaknesses: In photoshop 3,4 & even 5 there were some, but in 5.5 not.Bottom Line: Photoshop is without a doubt the most powerful tool for a graphic artist, photographer or anybody that put no limits to his imagination.
I've been using it like 4 years ago, and got hooked up to it.
Similar Products Used: Corel photopaint 9, is likely but still not so good
