Review 1 of 11

Price Paid:  $3.00 from 7dayshop

Summary:

Wow, this film is crazy, the colours are wild, it looks simalar to what you get when you overexpose regular film, some of the picture look like the BG has been added in photoshop, it looks wied!

Strengths:

Mad crazy colours!

Weaknesses:

ISO 100, with the quaility of most modern film I would not normally use ISO 100 in all but the brightest of days, I think 400 would have been better.

Similar Products Used:

Reala, Superia 100/400

Review 2 of 11

Price Paid:  $5.00 from New Zealand (NZ$8.26

Summary:

Excellent super saturated film. If you are looking for natural colours and nice skin tones, look elsewhere. If you are looking for intense colours this is as close to Fuji Velvia as you can get without going to a slide film.

Strengths:

If your mate wants you to photograph his car, this is the film for you.

Weaknesses:

Skintones. You can photograph cars, landscapes, whatever, just don't photograph people up close.

Review 3 of 11

Price Paid:  $6.00 from Jessops, UK

Summary:

Whoa, there!!! Where did those colours come from?! Yellows and pinks that jump out and throttle you. Blues and greens a little more sedate. THE film if you want wild, unbalanced and completely unrealistic colours. If you don't, don't buy it. How simple can it be?! I love it! What a shame it's not a bit faster and available in 120 format - it'd be fantastic in my Holga.

Strengths:

Always surprises you Brightens up a dull day

Weaknesses:

Not available in 120 format Not ISO 400

Similar Products Used:

Most Fuji neg & tranny film, Kodak Portra 160 & 400 VC

Customer Service:

Never used

Review 4 of 11

Price Paid:  $6.00 from Mesa Photo Supply

Summary:

This film is can produce quite nice results after some photoshop-ing. Right out of the camera the photo usually comes out brilliant but the yellows are usually pail. Also there tends to be big brown spots all over the picture. The grain on this film is nothing to complain about. It's certainly not as bad as it's big brother, the Optima. If you try this film, be prepared to do some work to the pics on the computer. The end result can be quite refreshing however. A good example of this can be found at my website http://rotorblades.us

Strengths:

Greens, blues & reds are rich. Finer grain than Optima.

Weaknesses:

Brown spots. Dull, pail yellows.

Similar Products Used:

Agfa Optima 100 & 200, Kodak Versatility Max 400, Fuji Superia X-Tra 400

Customer Service:

Well after complaining about the spots then sent me a couple more rolls of the stuff but they won't confess the problem is on their end.

Review 5 of 11

Price Paid:  $3.00 from B&H

Summary:

Simply incredible! This is the best film I have ever used. If you love eye popping color and like to be creative with your color schemes then you need look no further than this film. Many films claim to be color saturated but they don't come anywhere near Agfa Ultra. I bought 3 rolls to use while on caribean vacation where there were beautiful blue skies and water, white sand beach and palm trees. I also photographed some native people and other tourists. My photos were magnificent!I am hooked. (See the Punta Cana pix at www.fotohighway.com)

Strengths:

Eye popping super color, Excellent skin tones. Just try it.

Weaknesses:

Yes, it is grainy, but it actually adds to the high contrast and color warmth.

Similar Products Used:

Fuji Reala-no where near as good as this. The color actually rivals slide film.

Customer Service:

not needed
