Summary:

I use my compact for location work in editorial and corporate settings. This unit lacks power for studio work. I recommend it for photogs that use alot of light shaping and dramatic effects. If your just going to put on a soft box you would be better off with a less expensive unit.

Strengths:

wonderfully designed and sleek. good variable controls and well built. Just fun to use.

Weaknesses:

Little pricey. My standard umbrella did not seem to fit in the shaft recepticle. (too narrow)The recycling time seems slow

Price Paid: $900.00 from Samy's Camera

Summary:

I highly recomment this unit although the cost in a bit higher compared to the competition. The quality of light and ease of use will pay for itself over time. Buy IT IF YOU GOT THE DOUGH!!!!

Strengths:

Small size and lights weight make it a unit which is easy to transport and use on location. The light modifying attachments are excellent and allow lots of flexibility on the field and in the studio. Tenba makes a great carrying case for the units...good for travel!!!!

Weaknesses:

Could power down more than four stops. The Compact Plus 600ws unit has too much power in confined spaces.
