$229.00 Summary: The first one I got wouldn't completely charge up. I took about 15 photos with the second one before it stopped communicating with the camera (Canon 20D). The built-in flash on the 20D would pop up & flash even though the Promaster was mounted on the camera.
While waiting for the second Promaster 7500DX to arrive, I used a Canon 420EX to take about 30 photos. Judging from the few shots I was able to take before the second Promaster failed, the Canon Speedlite far outperformed the Promaster.
The Promaster's flash metering focused on the subject only, provided minimal illumination to the subject and no illumination to the background. The photos all lacked depth.
Don't waste your money or time on this flash. Strengths: Inexpensive. Weaknesses: Very poor quality control. 2 out of 2 units failed. Similar Products Used: Canon Speedlite 420EX, Canon 380EX
