Price Paid:  $320.00

Very reliable meter. Had one problem caused by dirty contact in rotating head. Cleaned the contact and bent it a little to make it a "self-cleaning-by-scraping" contact. Never had a problem since.

Strengths:

Reliable, standard AA size battery, memory

Weaknesses:

None

Review 3 of 18

Price Paid:  $330.00 from Fotocasion Madrid Sp

Summary:

FIRST OF ALL I APOLOGISE FOR MY ENGLISH LEVEL THAT CAN CREATE SOME CONFUSSION IN MY REVIEW (I''LL STUDY MORE) I purchased recently this meter after working several times with professionals which used it. It´s usefull in all situations, outdoors and indoors. In studio is the best friend of the assistants who don´t have to worry about how it works the meter and can concentrate in metering. The only thing i miss is maybe two or three memories more, but nothing you can´t solve with a pencil. Some reviews miss a multilecture mode but i think this feature is not a really one, you can allways calculate a multiflash exposure by yourself.

Strengths:

Easy use. Rotatory head. Average cost.

Weaknesses:

Backlight.

Similar Products Used:

Sekonic and Polaris meters

Review 5 of 18

Price Paid:  $250.00 from B&H

Summary:

If you are one of the lucky ones, this product will give you accurate readings for many years (according to others on this list). But those considering buying this product should to put into consideration the posibility of spending $100-$150 for repair every few years.

Strengths:

Functional, does the work. It was great until I had problems.

Weaknesses:

From what I have found out, this product has a problem of giving the wrong reading by as much as 2-3 stops. According to where I sent mine in for repair, this is common problem after 2-3 years of usage. I paid about $100 for repair back in 97, now I am having the same problem again.

Similar Products Used:

None

Customer Service:

Not very helpful when I address the issue above. And they charge quite a bit more and takes much longer for the same repair/service. Minolta should consider fixing this problem and have a recall for existing units out there.
