Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $120.00 from FFordes of Beauly

Summary:

An outstanding piece of equipment, turning in particular my 70-200mm zoom into a far more flexible item in my kitbag. As well as removing the need to buy (yet another) lens for longer reach shots, it is small, light and easy to fit. Optically there is obviously a slight price to pay but this is very rarely noticeable. Worth every penny spent. The results ahve been excellent.

Strengths:

Small and light, and does exactly what is needed. Easy to carry, fit and use.

Weaknesses:

Slight colour shift at times, which only takes a few seconds to rectify in PS.

Similar Products Used:

None

Customer Service:

FFordes of Beauly in Scotland - simply outstanding as ever.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $280.00 from B+H

Summary:

Stunning extender. If you use L lenses, you should be using this too, and it''s 2x sister lens. I mainly use it with the Ef 300 2.8, and there''s no picture quality loss, or Af speed difference. Makes the 300 an excellent 420 F4. Can be picked up pretty cheap now that Canon have released the II version.

Strengths:

Picture quality (provided it''s used with a good lens) Build. Look - white!! Price (in B+H anyway).

Weaknesses:

none

Similar Products Used:

Customer Service:

never needed.

Review 4 of 5

Summary:

Works beautifully with my 300mm F4L IS and 70-200 F4L. If you have L-series, don't compromise them with third party TCs. Use this. Only grip is with the enormous list price...

Strengths:

Good optical quality
Well made
Matched to L series lenses

Weaknesses:

For what it is, none
