Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Tokyo

Summary:

Kenko teleplus converter marked C-AF 1.5x teleplus SHQ. I use this small lightweight converter on my Canon 200mm 2.8L. With this lens, the quality is superb, autofocus no problem at all.

Strengths:

small, light sharp

Weaknesses:

none

Similar Products Used:

canon 2x. This 1.5x kenko is much better, as its more compact.

Review 2 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00 from test

Summary:

overpriced... this tc does not work or perform and bettr than the tamron 1.4 mc4 or the tamron 2x mc4 (also I didn not see any noticable difference between the tamron mc-7 compared to the less expensive mc-4) picture quality is exceptable.. autofucusing tend to seek (alot)through out the lens range. same as the cheaper tc's

Strengths:

not much to say.. not much to tc's

Weaknesses:

overpriced without any justification.. this is a good $60-80 telecovertor.

Similar Products Used:

tamron 1.4 2x MC-4 and MC-7 (2x)convertors

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $60.00 from mail order

Summary:

For the price ($60), I think it''s difficult to complain. As a working photojournalist, this fit the budget and was great for its intended use. Worked fine on a Tokina 80-200 2.8 AF, but did not work with a Sigma 70-200 2.8 AF ... on a Nikon D1 and F90X bodies.

Strengths:

Price feels sturdy enough to drop from no more than 2 and a half feet.

Weaknesses:

limited compatibility

Similar Products Used:

none

Customer Service:

none needed

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $85.00

Summary:

I was quite disappointed with this TC even though I bought it on a whim. I've used it with Nikkor 80-200/2.8, 80-400VR and other lenses. The result is mediocre and while it is metal the build quality is flimsy. Go for a more expensive T/C, you will be sorry if you get one in this price range. The Kenko Pro300 might be better. Either way, do not buy any other T/C below $250 or so.

Strengths:

Low price

Weaknesses:

Mediocre build and optical quality

Similar Products Used:

None

Customer Service:

Not tried
