Strength:

Strength:

Optics, solid housing

Weakness:

fixation lenssystem in housing, tolerance bajonet

Good optical performance and rather cheap compared to the originals (Canon, Pentax) The bajonet fits to thight to my Canon lens, the bajonet of the lens doesn''t fit so thight to te camera anymore. The lenssystem came out of the housing(due to vibrations?)it was simply repairable by myself, so this was a minor problem.

Strength:

solid, good optics, cheap.

Weakness:

uuhh, none found yet.

I needed some extention for my (yes, also) 70-200 EX HSM. This TC is just what I needed. I used it in Greece and I shot some really nice pictures (slides) of buildings and my girlfriend. Autofocus works perfect on my eos300 and I found very little vignetting at 5,6. IT''''''''s a perfect TC!

Strength:

Cheap, it''s great with Sigma 70-200, mega good combo... The Sigma TC2x makes the lens super duper... Our get at little bag for it...

Weakness:

Ohh, nothing at all...

Great TC, wery good build... When i use it on my Sigma 70-200 it is great, nearly no loose of sharpness and speed... This is a killer combo, wouldn''t use this TC with other then EX telelensen, it''s not build to be used with reguler lenses... Great for nature, sports and all the things that you need a 400mm lens for... Man I love it...

Strength:

High speed autofocus with matched 70-200 2.8 lens. Good looks. Good construction.

Weakness:

Light loss. As with all converters light loss is a problem indoors

Solid piece of equipment. This converter does all it claims. 8x10''s 400 speed fuji press film show no signs of weakness.

Customer Service

Great group to talk with on the phone. Have not had any problems with equipment yet.

Strength:

EX finish

Weakness:

Result not sharp

When I bought a new or used lense, I got a test for every aperture from wide to end. Before comment on a Sigma APO 2X, I would like to say it first that tested a Sigma 300 APO Macro f/4. The result was razor sharp from f/5.6~f/32.
So, I got a test for same way on a steady tripod, ISO 200 print film and 4*6 print.
(Shutter speed is over 1/640s on a tripod at f/5.6)

Soft!!

I disapointed.. so, I bought a new Mirror reflex f/5.6 made from Russia. The result ?

Terrible!!
Who makes this lense ?

Anyway, The result for Sigma APO 2X is slight soft that beginner can notice easily.

I would like to buy a Sigma 1.4X, but, not sell in Korea.

Strength:

Allows for a natural extension of my Sigma 70-200 Ex

Sharp

Weakness:

None

I coupled this extender with my 70-200 and shot a local baseball game. THe prints were crisp and sharp. I was more than pleased with the results. I do not use the auto focus when shooting baseball, so I cannot comment on the speed in sports shooting, but, It seems fast on other general subjects.
