Review 1 of 6

Price Paid:  $180.00

Summary:

Good optical performance and rather cheap compared to the originals (Canon, Pentax) The bajonet fits to thight to my Canon lens, the bajonet of the lens doesn''t fit so thight to te camera anymore. The lenssystem came out of the housing(due to vibrations?)it was simply repairable by myself, so this was a minor problem.

Strengths:

Optics, solid housing

Weaknesses:

fixation lenssystem in housing, tolerance bajonet

Similar Products Used:

Sigma 1,4x APO converter (for Canon) excelent) Pentax 1,4x s converter excelent Takumar 2x converter cheap moderate optics

Customer Service:

not needed

Review 2 of 6

Price Paid:  $230.00 from mediamarkt

Summary:

I needed some extention for my (yes, also) 70-200 EX HSM. This TC is just what I needed. I used it in Greece and I shot some really nice pictures (slides) of buildings and my girlfriend. Autofocus works perfect on my eos300 and I found very little vignetting at 5,6. IT''''''''s a perfect TC!

Strengths:

solid, good optics, cheap.

Weaknesses:

uuhh, none found yet.

Similar Products Used:

none

Customer Service:

not used (just a good piece of workmanship)

Review 3 of 6

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

Great TC, wery good build... When i use it on my Sigma 70-200 it is great, nearly no loose of sharpness and speed... This is a killer combo, wouldn''t use this TC with other then EX telelensen, it''s not build to be used with reguler lenses... Great for nature, sports and all the things that you need a 400mm lens for... Man I love it...

Strengths:

Cheap, it''s great with Sigma 70-200, mega good combo... The Sigma TC2x makes the lens super duper... Our get at little bag for it...

Weaknesses:

Ohh, nothing at all...

Similar Products Used:

Canon TC2x & TC1.4

Customer Service:

No...

Review 4 of 6

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Auction

Summary:

Solid piece of equipment. This converter does all it claims. 8x10''s 400 speed fuji press film show no signs of weakness.

Strengths:

High speed autofocus with matched 70-200 2.8 lens. Good looks. Good construction.

Weaknesses:

Light loss. As with all converters light loss is a problem indoors

Similar Products Used:

Nikon and Tamron converters.

Customer Service:

Great group to talk with on the phone. Have not had any problems with equipment yet.

Review 5 of 6

Summary:

I coupled this extender with my 70-200 and shot a local baseball game. THe prints were crisp and sharp. I was more than pleased with the results. I do not use the auto focus when shooting baseball, so I cannot comment on the speed in sports shooting, but, It seems fast on other general subjects.

Strengths:

Allows for a natural extension of my Sigma 70-200 Ex

Sharp

Weaknesses:

None

Similar Products Used:

Only converter I own

Customer Service:

not needed yet
