Review 1 of 7

Price Paid:  $350.00 from as new

Summary:

Very lightweigth, solid lens. No visible distorsons in normal use (perhaps some, if you are in habit to shoot a wall of bricks; actually don't know anyone who really does), good colours and bokeh, nothing bad against it.. Also works with cropped digital sensor, as a semi wide angle lens. Very good material perkele

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:

A very good 24mm, among the best. Very good contrast from f/4, very little distortion (Nikon is a little better here), very good sharpness. Fast AF due to IF. Perfect lenshood.

Strengths:

Optical quality, great from f/4 to f/11. Very fast autofocus. Small & Light. Perfect hood.

Weaknesses:

Some lower contrast on f/2.8.

Similar Products Used:

AF 24-50/4. Don't believe the stories that the 24mm of this zoom are as good as this lens!

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $400.00 from Taipei, Taiwan

Summary:

I bought it nine years ago. Bascially, I think it is not as sharp as Canon or Nikon's 24mm f/2.8, also the resolution is worse than Canon's or Nikon's.

Strengths:

Color is warm

Weaknesses:

Not Sharp enough, Resolution is not as Canon's or Nikon's

Similar Products Used:

Canon EOF 24mm/F2.8

Review 5 of 7

Model Reviewed:
AF 24mm f/2.8 Maxxum

Summary:

Highly recommended. One of the sharpest lenses in the Maxxum line-up.

Strengths:

Good sharpness wide open, excellent at F8. Color is warmer than Nikkor. This lens shows minimal distortion and flare at all apertures. Truly one of the best of 24mm/2.8

Weaknesses:

Feels more plasticky than Nikkor.

Similar Products Used:

Nikon 24mm/2
