Strengths: Build, Image quality when closed down.Weaknesses: Slow to work with. Blue flare that needs hand shielding. Unless you do not care about lens flare, then you can set at F11, shoot away and forget about focus, even on a D3.Bottom Line: Great build. If you want real wide pictures on film or your D3 and can afford to shoot at f8-f11, this lens will give you the best picture quailty with no distortion. at F3.5 it is relatively soft. Even illumination at all stops. Will need to shade with your hand, but it is easy once you get used to it. Slow lens with fantastic image quality closed down.

Strengths: Sharpness.Weaknesses: Price, flareBottom Line: One of my favorite ultra wide angle lenses. Very sharp rectilinear images. The only problem is extreme flaring if your shooting into a light source.
