Strength:

Superb sharpness, color and contrast.

Weakness:

diffraction limited from f/11

Perfectly symmetrical double gauss type lens produces outstanding results! I use it from slide duplication to full body bug shots. (For head shots I use the Zuiko 38/2.8 macro. See: http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?topic_id=1481&msg_id=0042vz&photo_id=1072215&photo_sel_index=0}

Strength:

Build quality, compactness, image quality.

Weakness:

It is a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I have been using this lens for around nine years, and am still amazed at the quality of some of the images. Pictures are razor sharp. I use it in conjuction with Olympus' 65-116 auto extension tube. Even when used with the dedicated 2 x close up filter, results are simply outstanding. If you wish to check out example pictures, see my website www.visionage.co.uk

Strength:

Sharpest 1:1 around. I use it with bellows, helicoid and extension tubes. Slide copies are very sharp and contrasty.

Weakness:

None.

I believe it to be the best 1:1 lens around. Works well on bellows with macro flash and Olympus TTL bodies.

Strength:

Its a very high quality product. Optimized for 1:1 image ratio.

Weakness:

When my first slides came out I knew that the money was well spend. Its much better than Tamron Sp2.8 at 1:1 and at f11. Pretty sharp even at f32!!

Model Reviewed: OM-Zuiko 80mm f4.0

Strength:

Its really sharp, very high quality, the best around 1:1. The newest version has auto aperture. I haven't used the older version.

Weakness:

Magnification rates are a bit limited (auto tube 65-116) and the close-up lens is a bit of a hassle with a macro flash (T28)

Extremely good for what it is ment to do but not as versatile as a normal (e.g. non-bellows) macro
