from Ebay.Ca Summary: I've had this lens for about a month, purchased new for $420 Cdn, and am so impressed I must contribute my two cents.
This lens is sharp, and yields terrific images. It has a close focus range. And on a Nikon D70, with the 1.5 crop, you get comfortable distortion-a fisheye that isn't outrageous, making it very usable for news photography, while giving you enough room for close-up play.
The build is great, though without the cap and cover (which are also very good and metal), you have to be careful not to touch the glass as you can't use screw-on filters. You can use one on the hood and leave it on, but then you have to deal with the black-corners from vignetting in photoshop (I prefer images untouched, straight from the camera).
The build is very nice, solid and not cheap. AF speed isn't super fast, but quick enough for anything you'd use such a lens for.
Oh yes, and compared to Nikon's 16mm, 14mm or 10mm, this one is cheap dollar-wise.
Honestly, I have read a lot of bad things about Sigma lenses, about bad copies and whatnot. And though this lens, typically gets good reviews, I was very apprehensive. I now understand why it's so well regarded-it's a greatlens and a great investment. I love it! Strengths: images-brilliant!

AF-not a serious complaint. But hey, nothing is perfect. Similar Products Used: My other widest lens is a Nikon 18-70mm. But this isn't very similar.
