Strengths:    + very sharp (right from wide-open)
+ beautiful, silky smooth bokeh
+ exceptional full-metal build
+ guaranteed weatherproof
+ AF-lock buttons, AF limiter
+ lens hood with doors, velvet inside the hood
+ 77 mm filter thread
+ fast focusing

Weaknesses:    - expensive
- big and heavy
- focusing more noisy than ultrasonic type motors

Bottom Line:   
Top notch lens without any real weakness, great for portraiture, landscapes, sports and more.

Strengths:    * Sharp lens even on wide open aperture

* Weathersealed

* Focus Lock on Lens !

* Fast AF

* Amazing shallow DOF

Weaknesses:    * Heavy (even more than 70-200 mm f/2.8!)


* Expensive



Bottom Line:   
The first zoom lens with constant f/2 aperture throughout the range.

FOV is similar to 70-200 mm with a great background blur.
