Phoenix 100-400mm f/4.5-6.7 35mm Zoom
Take this lens on your next safari, or to the zoo with the kids. Focus on your subject, come in tight for detail and catch the unexpected. If youre at a sports event or standing on top of a mountain, you can focus out to infinity and still get breathtaking results. Getting spectacular zoom-effect shots takes a super tele-zoom like this Phoenix 100-400mm lens and a little creativity.

I have the Cosina version of this lens which is very sharp and have good contrast wide open at 400mm (even with my Nikon TC-16A tele-convertor) on my cropped sensor Nikon D70 body. This might not be the case if you use full frame camera. Auto focus speed is reasonably fast at 400mm F6.7 and purple fringing for high contrast areas is quite tolerable. This lens is quite lightweight and I can even handhold it at 1/80s with proper handholding technique and leaning against something stable. Highly recommended if you are looking for a reasonably priced 400mm lens for birding or nature photography where 300mm is most of the time insufficient. What other autofocus 400mm lens is available at this kind of price or even double or triple the price for this type of quality? As far as I know.....NON !
