from Camera Show Summary: I've used it several years on my film Nikons, recently on my Nikon D70, and love it. I believe the variance in quality some have reported may be due to looseness in the focusing mount, something I have fixed in my lens. Strengths: Beautiful image quality, contrast, and that constant f/2.8 aperture. Weaknesses: Focusing mount was a bit loose when I got it, got looser until I had to take it in for repair. There was noticeable viewfinder-visible image deterioration, just wiggling the front of the lens side to side. Similar Products Used: Tokina 19-35mm, Nikon 80-200 f/2.8. Customer Service: I used Advance Camera Repair in Beaverton, Oregon, a highly competent facility. My warranty might still be in effect, but I trust Dave at Advance.
