Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $130.00 from Ritz Camera

Summary:

When I bought this lens with the S-1 body, I didn't know much about photography and what to look for in equipment. This lens was horrible, definately not worth the price I paid($130). I wouldn't recommend buying this lens with the S-1; I would go with the 22-80, because it has manual focus, although I don't know much more about it. Bottom line, read the book on photogaphy before spending a lot of money on SLR equipment.

Strengths:

Light
Small

Weaknesses:

Slow
No Manual Focus
Hunts a lot
Odd Filter Size (40.5mm)
Narrow Zoom Range

Review 3 of 4

Summary:

Only for beginners. I missed so many shots with this thing it's not funny! DOES NOT FOCUS FAST ENOUGH...or on contrasty subjects...I hate it!

Strengths:

sharp results...(depends on the film as well)

Weaknesses:

Doesn't focus fast enough.... Aperture only 4.0 minimum.... Also can't focus on contrasty subjects!!! Recentlt it has started not to focus at all!!! must be something seriously wrong with this thing.... :(
