Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $11.00 from B&H

Summary:

I have used the Tiffen Red #25 and Yellow #12 filters and they work great. They are constructed of a solid metal, and other that sticking on my lens a couple time have been great. The Red Filter gives me an intense contrast between sky and clouds and the yellow ups contrast in all situations. Excellent Filters.

Strengths:

Quality construction, great image results.

Weaknesses:

Can get stuck on lense.

Similar Products Used:

B&W Filters

Customer Service:

Never needed it, and if they broke, is it worth the time to go deal with customer service when they cost only $11 a piece?

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00 from B+H

Summary:

Mechanically the worst. Plastic ring. Mine distorted into ellipse after several months. Need great effort to try to put it on the lens.

Strengths:

Cheap

Weaknesses:

The worst filter in this world

Similar Products Used:

B+W

Customer Service:

Terrible. Almost non-existent.

Review 3 of 3

Summary:

Good filters for the money and a comprehensive range of filters too. Where else can you find an IR filter? A hot mirror? An 812 warming filter? An ultra-contrast (amazing filter - it really works!)? A sepia? At any rate, they're terrific values and well-made filters. Don't let the "lack" of multi-coating put you off - just use a lens hood and save your money.

Strengths:

Consistency, regardless of filter size.

Uncoated glass surface doesn't need babying. Laminated construction doesn't delaminate in my experience, even with long and hard use.

Weaknesses:

Aluminum rings bind in polycarbonate filter threads.

Somewhat wider rings than other brands.

Similar Products Used:

Hoya, Hoya HMC/S-HMC, Nikon, B+W. Some Heliopans.

Customer Service:

Not needed, but their catalog is practically a filter primer.
