Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $175.00 from B&H Photo

Summary:

The others are right, when it comes to B+W you get what you pay for!
I have been using B+W Polarizers since the 1970s on Leitz lenses. They are with out a doubt the finest lenses made for photography. As an advance amateur I have won photo contests using Leica cameras, Leitz lenses & B+W filters.
I just swithched over to DSLR changed camera and lenses...not my B+W filters. The only negative, is true of all Polarizers, the center film is guaranteed for 10 years, by B+W, and will generally last 15-20 years. While other filters use different processes, Polarizers have two peices of glass with a film between them. The film "pulls" away from the edge leaving the filter unusable. If you are considering any other brand check the guarantee.
You can do as I have done, buy the best and not worry.

Strengths:

Quality, smooth operation,

Weaknesses:

Price?

Similar Products Used:

Tiffen, Hoya, Leitz

Customer Service:

The best from both Germany and their US distributer.

Review 2 of 4

Price Paid:  $130.00 from KE

Summary:

B+W have always amazed me with their sturdy, 'die-hard' filters that are not only nearly indestructable, but also feature some of the best filter glass in the photography world. Although far more expensive than their Hoya, Tiffen, Canon counterparts, they are definately worth every penny. I love this filter. I keep it on my wideangle lenses 95% of the time. The results are just excellent and I wouldn't shoot daylight landscape witout them.

Strengths:

Build quality, glass quality, results, dimensions (slim)

Weaknesses:

Price, weight (they're fairly heavy)

Similar Products Used:

Hoya, Tiffen & Hama filters.

Customer Service:

Nope.

Excellent polarizer. Brass ring prevents binding. No problem with flare even on 24mm lens. Multi-coating appears speckled, don't know if this is a defect or not. Hard to clean and not leave swirl marks. A little pricey for such a small bit of glass

Strengths:

Brass ring, no binding No flare issues Build quality

Weaknesses:

Multi-coating appears speckled Swirl marks when cleaning Pricey
